Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Manufacturing and Process Development Engineering Teams significantly impact LEANPD driven new product development projects, driving for excellence in existing manufacturing technologies and methods and striving to implement new manufacturing technologies to provide improved process and tolerance control. They act as the binding element between product development and manufacturing engineering, ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of this critical interface. They support Product Development in the optimization of designs and piece parts for manufacturability by realizing sample tooling/products/prototypes. They also design, develop, and qualify tooling and processes to meet TE quality and production standards, document all processes and tooling in applicable TE systems, support supply chain to verify supplier compliance and capability, initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, cost and cycle time and adhere to all appropriate specifications, regulatory requirements and customer requirements.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

Experience

More than 3years’s experience in Cable Assembly manufacturing industry.

Process and Equipment design of Cable Assembly.

Develop High-Speed Cable Assemblies for and Signal Integrity.(nice to have)

Coaxial and RF related Cable Assembly and testing for it.(nice to have)

Lead projects of Cable Assembly as engineering

Improve and solve Cable Assembly production.

JOB RESPONSIBILITY:

1) Recommend the best cable assembly concept for a given project to achieve optimum cost, quality and manufacturability targets.

2) To provide design for manufacturability input during product design.

3) To provide inputs in the various Design Reviews, Design FMEA and be the main driver for Process FMEA.

4) To work with vendors on prototype tooling and manage the prototyping process to meet cost targets and planned schedule.

5) To establish and maintain machine specifications, and with input from manufacturing plant Engineers, finalise mass production tooling design concepts and requirements.

6) To manage vendors during mass production tooling fabrication to ensure progress per plan and technical requirements are met.

7) Complete buy-off of the mass production tools from supplier.

8) Support plant process engineer to receive and setup machine at production site.

9) Take the lead on Tool design changes to resolve any problems encountered during initial run.

10) Ensure documentation in line with tool acceptance requirement for release to Operations.

11) Monitor and document continuous improvement opportunities.

12) Introduce new technology or technique to improve overall operational efficiency and productivity without compromising on quality.

13) Collaborate with Centre-of-Excellence (CoE) teams to stay informed on new developments.

14) Apply design for environment principles in accordance to ISO 14000 environmental management system in the Design and Development of the manufacturing processes.

15) Assist in Project Management activities related to cable assembly projects as assigned.
